About BudgetSprout
A forward-thinking budgeting app that helps you stay ahead of your finances
About BudgetSprout
BudgetSprout is a Canadian-made budgeting platform designed for people who want more than another expense tracker. It's forward-thinking, easy to use, and powered by AI that helps you act on your budget — not just observe it.

Where most apps simply tell you what happened, BudgetSprout helps you plan what's next: offering timely reminders, predictive insights, and personalized suggestions that make saving and spending decisions feel natural, not forced.
BudgetSprout also offers a library of free budget templates, calculators, and tools for anyone who wants to start building better habits. The free tier gives you everything you need to begin your budgeting journey — and learn by doing.
For now, it's just me here — one person, a laptop, and a deep love for helping Canadians feel confident with their money.
Why it Matters
Money can feel complicated, but it doesn't have to. The goal of BudgetSprout is simple: to make budgeting approachable, intuitive, and maybe even something you look forward to.
Whether you're starting from scratch or refining years of financial habits, BudgetSprout meets you where you are and helps you move forward — one small, confident decision at a time.
About Me

Brendan
Founder, BudgetSprout
Hi, I'm Brendan — the person behind BudgetSprout.
For over fifteen years, budgeting has been both my challenge and my craft. I started out like most people: always a little behind, always promising myself next month would be better. Then I discovered financial writer and budget maven Gail Vaz-Oxlade, and downloaded her free budget template. That simple spreadsheet became my turning point — I adapted it, expanded it, and eventually built an approach that fit my life.
Every Thursday evening, I still look forward to opening my cashflow sheet, balancing my jars, and seeing how the week unfolded. Budgeting stopped being a chore once I realized it wasn't about restriction — it was about awareness, freedom, and the quiet satisfaction of progress.
I built BudgetSprout to share that feeling.
